About
What is the Technical Directorate?
The Technical Directorate is Thales's internal innovation function — a small, senior team whose job is to explore emerging technology, build reusable platform components, and help product teams adopt better engineering practices. We sit between R&D and the delivery squads: close enough to the code to be credible, far enough back to see patterns across the organisation.
This catalog is our working ledger. Every skill, template, service, tool, and demo we ship ends up here with a clear status, an owner, and a link to the source. The goal is simple: if your team needs to do something we've already figured out, you should be able to find it, fork it, and be running in an afternoon — not spend two weeks rebuilding it from scratch.
How to engage
There are two ways to work with us. If your team has a well-scoped problem — a new internal tool, a complex data pipeline, an AI prototype — reach out directly and we can run a short discovery together. If you've built something reusable that belongs in this catalog, open a merge request against the entries directory on GitLab and we'll review it. We try to keep the bar high but the process light.
For everything else — questions, ideas, feedback on an existing entry — the fastest route is email. We're a small team and we read it all.
